About Artweeks
Oxfordshire Artweeks began in 1982. The idea of artists inviting the public into their homes and studios proved so successful that it has been replicated all over the UK. Artweeks is run by a board comprising artists and other professionals who volunteer their time and expertise. Funding comes from the artists' membership and Festival entry fees plus other sources such as local authority funding, sponsorship and donations.
About this site
In 2006, Artweeks received funding from Awards for All and approached Eye Division Ltd to build a sister site to the main Festival website.
Artweeks members, even those not taking part in the annual Festival, may have a gallery of their work online throughout the year for a small annual fee (£30.00). The gallery currently allows artists to upload six pictures, along with biographical detail and links to a personal or professional web site.
